Favourite Disney rides - Fortress Explorations at DisneySea

Fortress Explorations at DisneySea with the ever erupting Mount Promethius in the background

Continuing on with the theme of favourite rides, and I stress, these are in no particular order (as they are all favourites), I thought this week I would talk about Fortress Explorations, a huge land located within DisneySea, Tokyo. DisneySea is such an immersive theme park, and has the reputation as being one of the best, if not the best theme park in the world. Many of the rides in DisneySea are unique in the world of Disney Parks including this one. If you have been to DisneySea - a trip down memory lane awaits you below. Feel free to agree/disagree in comments.

Ride: Fortress Explorations (not really a ride, more a 'land')
Location: DisneySea, Tokyo

This was the last area in DisneySea we visited, and it was kind of an ‘afterthought’ as we weren’t entirely sure what to expect,  but we are so glad that we did visit it, even though after several days of Disneyland, our feet were killing us slowly. There was so much to do and so many things to look at. All meticulously detailed and so incredibly immersive. You really did think you were somewhere else in the world and forgot entirely you were actually in Japan. Fortress Explorations is a walk through attraction that exhibits many attractions inside a medieval castle fortress. Attractions include an interactive planetarium, where you can physically move the planets around the room, a large map room with miniature war ship boats in a pool of water you can also move around (costs 100 Yen to move them), and some amazing optical illusion rooms worthy of the Renaissance era. Part of the fortress has an area you can fire off cannons into the Mediterranean harbour, with loud sound effects and smoke. There  is also a 16th Century Spanish Galleon docked in harbour to explore which is loads of fun. Fortress Explorations is indeed a place you can spend at least an hour, and ideally quite a few hours exploring at your own pace, at any time of the day. All ages would enjoy this ‘land’ and there are no queues whatsoever. Well, maybe if someone dominates the optical illusion equipment and won’t give someone else a chance….

There is so much to explore here

And yes, the cannons were loud!

This room was amazing, with planets you can shift around the room

Optical illusions to play with...

Battleships you can maneuver around the room

And lastly, in Fortress Explorations you can explore a full scale 16th Century Spanish Galleon

Hope you have enjoyed this weeks blog, feel free to comment on these rides.
